Care That Feels Like Home
Serving the terminally ill in the Rio Grande Valley since 1989.
WHAT WE DO
Since 1989, Comfort House has provided a home-like environment where individuals with a terminal illness can find comfort, care, and peace in their final months.
Our Founder
Sister M. Stromeyer
Sister Stromeyer is the heart of The Comfort House. She was the spearhead of this organization and her drive to help others in dire need when they needed it most, still continues to live on with our current Staff and Volunteers.
We are forever grateful for her and to this day she is considered a role model for many of us here at The Comfort House.

We are very grateful for the generosity of the individuals, groups, businesses, foundations and friends that partner with us in the fight against childhood hunger. Together, we’re making a difference in the lives of the many food-insecure children throughout New York.
